Why has Christmas Jumper Day become such a popular charity event?
The season of goodwill is upon us! As a popular venue for charity events we’ve seen and joined in with many fundraisers. This year, we’ll be donning our fluffy festive knitwear to celebrate our favourite annual charity event, Christmas Jumper Day! This fantastic money-raiser was started by Save the Children UK.
For the past few years, people nationwide have been dressing up in their Christmas-best to raise money for a whole host of national and local charities. So why has it become such a popular charity event? Here’s why we love it…
Raise money for amazing causes
Yarnfield Park is no stranger to charity events and we’ve played host to some inspirational fundraisers. Whether you’re raising money for Save the Children or have another nominated charity, putting on your tackiest, most tinselled top and donating a little money to charity is a great way to raise money for an amazing cause.
Get festive in the office
Who doesn’t love a chance to add a little party atmosphere to their work space? Christmas Jumper Day is the perfect opportunity to dust off the Christmas tree and deck the halls! Pop the Christmas songs CD on and add an element of competition to the celebrations – ask your colleagues to cast a vote on their favourite festive knit.
Eat, drink and be merry!
If you’re going to crack out that Christmas jumper, you may as well take the opportunity to load up on mince pies, gingerbread and other festive treats! Christmas Jumper Day is the best day to officially open up those tins of chocolate, practice your pastry-making skills and fill up on candy canes.

This year, we wore our Christmas Jumpers to raise money for The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice.
